Vegetable Papyrus

by I. Batsheva

Alimentum is pleased to present the work of I. Batsheva. In a statement to accompany this piece, she writes: "I. Batsheva lives a stone's throw from Shuk Mechane Yehuda, the central market in Jerusalem. There she buys the vegetables to make vegetable papyrus and experiments with the papyrus, light, and photography. This piece was made of cabbage and radish. This fall she is experimenting with 'dlat' (a giant light-skinned pumpkin which is cut and sold in chunks by the kilogram as it is too big!). She invites you to visit Jerusalem where she will be happy to show you around this world-famous market. You may contact her at ibatsheva@gmail.com."
